Progressing!

Begin Transmission:

Sculpting and filming has been going at full speed. I'm wrapping up the top secret project and shooting some of the detail work for the DVD tonight.

I want to thank everyone who has sent words of encouragement on Facebook, Kickstarter, here on the blog and everywhere else. It's been a busy few months and the workload doesn't show signs of easing up.

There's a lot to sculpt, a lot to film, and we're working into the nights here at the studio, music up and lights on!

Real World Production Schedule

Begin Transmission:

Hello everyone, I know you've been patiently waiting for an update on the videos and Cx5.

We've been running behind here at the studio for an exciting reason; I've been given the opportunity to sculpt one of the biggest pop culture icons of our time, and his sculpture is going to feature heavily in the first video. Sorry I can't share who just yet, it's top secret!

The estimated completion date for this new work is the beginning of July, and I am pushing back shooting a number of sections of the video to make room for this new contribution. Shooting of the new segments is well under way, and this particular sculpture lends itself to real world, detailed examples of some very unique properties of Cx5.

You should see copies of the DVD and samples of Cx5 arriving in August.

I want to genuinely thank you all for your patience as this process unfolds. I am working hard for you!

Production Schedule Update

Begin Transmission:

Let me start by saying thank you again to all of my Kickstarter backers who are making it possible for me to film, edit and publish these DVDs. I want to give everyone some insight into the journey of film-making I've now embarked on; I know all of you are eagerly awaiting the finished product, and I'm just as eager to get it out into the world.

1.) It all starts with the concept, and for this first video I am focusing on materials, tools and techniques. It will be everything a beginning or intermediate sculptor needs to know about working with common and specialized wax tools, various available waxes, and of course Cx5. I'll be showing you the building blocks of my unique sculpting techniques in great detail.

2.) Filming is set to start now! Over the next month I will be shooting all of the raw footage of me sculpting, and each of the different techniques and materials.

3.) On to editing and scoring the film! After all the shooting is completed I will spend the beginning weeks of June fine tuning the sequences, audio, and transitions to make this video as accessible and useful as possible for you sculptors following along with me.

4.) Printing the DVDs will happen commercially, so all of the design material will be going out the door to the printers in mid June.

At least, that's the plan, folks! I am so excited to be starting this first video, and you can look forward to the next in the series coming right on its heels. I'll be posting my progress through each of these stages right here on my blog.

Cheers,

-Adam

PayPal Pledges for Kickstarter!

Begin Transmission:

Hey everybody, a lot of you have asked if you can still participate in the Kickstarter promos, even though the pledging has officially ended. The answer is, absolutely!! If you want to get 50% off the videos and a sample of Cx5, you can still contribute via PayPal.

The price points are still the same as on my Kickstarter page, and if you set up a PayPal account you can send pledges directly to adam@adambeane.com. Just use the Send Money tab once you're logged in.

Thank you all again for your support!

Filming and Cx5 sample size update

Begin Transmission:

Hey everybody, I have been working day and night to finish a few sculpting projects so that I'm freed up to make this first video. Once the Kickstarter money starts coming in I will be able to start filming, and I'll keep you all posted on my progress. I am planning on shipping out a quarter pound of Cx5 to each of the backers who pledged $50 or more. I'd like to send out larger samples if possible, but it's going to depend on how much of my budget gets eaten up on filming. A quarter pound is enough to sculpt a small bust at 1/8 scale, or a head at 1/4 scale, about the size of the Evangeline Lilly piece.

More updates coming as soon as I make some more headway with these projects.

Cheers,

-Adam
